Technical Information

The information below is for reference. Final order data is subject to the technical agreement and product nameplate.

I. Product Overview

The XBC series diesel engine fire pump is a product independently developed and manufactured to meet domestic and international market demands and operational requirements for fire-fighting pumps. Characterized by high operating efficiency, a long service life, and excellent reliability, this series is widely used in fire-fighting projects and sprinkler systems across both domestic and international markets.

The series is designed to pump clean water (at temperatures below 80°C) or other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water. In addition to fire-fighting applications, the pumps can be used for domestic and industrial water supply. They are suitable for standalone fire water supply systems, combined fire and domestic water supply systems, as well as applications in construction, municipal infrastructure, mining, water supply and drainage, marine operations, and field work.

The XBC series diesel fire pump can be integrated with a fire control cabinet, offering comprehensive functionality, a high degree of automation, and a compact structure. It features automatic fault alarms and signal reception, executes startup sequences autonomously, and rapidly reaches full-load operation. Optional accessories include vibration isolators, rubber flexible joints, and corrugated bellows silencers for the exhaust outlet. Alarm systems are included for conditions such as low fuel levels, low battery voltage, high lubricating oil temperature, and overspeed; the system also ensures reliable startup in low-temperature environments. The entire system is safe, reliable, and user-friendly.

II. Product Features

1. The electric pump serves as the primary fire pump and starts automatically based on fire-fighting needs;

2. Equipped with a jockey pump (pressure-stabilizing pump) to maintain constant pipeline network pressure;

3. The diesel engine pump serves as the backup fire pump, starting automatically in the event of a power failure;

4. The diesel engine pump activates if the electric pump malfunctions.

III. Applications

The XBC series diesel engine fire pump unit is primarily used for pressure boosting and water delivery in fire-fighting pipeline systems. It is also suitable for industrial and municipal water supply and drainage, pressure boosting for high-rise buildings, long-distance water transport, heating systems, bathroom facilities, boiler hot/cold water circulation, air conditioning and refrigeration system water supply, and as auxiliary equipment for various industrial systems. Structural Description

The XBC series diesel engine fire pump unit is designed in accordance with the GB6245-2006 standard "Fire Pumps." It primarily consists of a pump casing (1), pump cover (2), impeller (3), shaft (4), seal ring (5), shaft sleeve (8), and suspension bearing assembly (12).

The casing assembly (comprising the pump casing and cover) of the XBC series pump is split at the rear of the impeller—a design commonly known as the "back pull-out" structure. This design facilitates easy maintenance; the pump casing, suction and discharge piping, and the engine remain undisturbed during servicing. Maintenance is performed by simply removing the spacer (intermediate coupling element) of the coupling and withdrawing the rotor assembly.

The pump housing (casing and cover) forms the working chamber. The impeller, shaft, and rolling bearings constitute the pump's rotor. The suspension bearing assembly supports the rotor, with the rolling bearings handling both radial and axial loads.

To balance axial thrust, most pumps feature seal rings at both the front and rear of the impeller, along with balance holes in the impeller's rear shroud. However, for pumps with minimal axial thrust, the seal ring and balance holes at the rear of the impeller may be omitted.

The shaft seal assembly consists of a gland (9), a seal cage/lantern ring (10), and packing (11) to prevent air ingress or excessive water leakage. In pumps with balance holes, the packing chamber connects to the impeller inlet; if the inlet is under vacuum, air can easily be drawn in along the shaft sleeve surface. Therefore, a seal cage is installed in the packing chamber to channel pressurized water from the pump casing—via a small hole in the pump cover—to the seal cage, thereby ensuring a proper seal. Conversely, in pumps without balance holes, the fluid pressure at the rear of the impeller exceeds atmospheric pressure, eliminating the risk of air ingress; thus, the seal cage is not required.

To prevent shaft wear, a protective shaft sleeve is installed where the shaft passes through the packing chamber. An O-ring is fitted between the shaft sleeve and the shaft to prevent air ingress or water leakage along the mating surfaces. The pump is connected to the electric motor via an extended flexible coupling; viewed from the drive end, the pump rotates clockwise.

The pump's inlet and outlet flanges are designed for a pressure of 1.6 MPa, facilitating convenient piping connections.
